During January 2026, Avant Dill enhanced the Russian localization for navigation hints in the OsmAnd repository, focusing on improving clarity and user understanding for Russian-speaking users. Working primarily with XML and leveraging the Weblate localization workflow, Avant updated translations to achieve 99.5% coverage, addressing 5670 out of 5698 strings. The work involved translation management and integration with existing localization pipelines, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the application. Although no bugs were fixed during this period, the feature reduced localization gaps and contributed to a more seamless user experience. The project demonstrated skills in XML, localization, and collaborative translation processes.
