During October 2025, B. Naamneh developed a new configurability feature for the matrix-org/matrix-js-sdk repository, enabling client applications to disable VoIP support through a dedicated option. This work involved adding a disableVoip flag that prevents both TURN server fetching and VoIP initialization, directly addressing resource usage and risk exposure concerns. Naamneh implemented comprehensive unit tests in TypeScript and JavaScript to validate the feature’s behavior, ensuring maintainability and regression safety.
