During May 2025, Sage Bain developed Version Increment Controls for the eclipse-pde/eclipse.pde repository, focusing on enhancing the package export workflow in Eclipse PDE. Sage implemented UI buttons that allow users to increment major, minor, and micro version segments for exported packages, using Java and leveraging Eclipse Plugin Development and UI Development skills. The solution incorporated robust version management logic to prevent invalid or conflicting version states, directly addressing a versioning issue in the existing export process. This work streamlined release accuracy and reduced manual intervention, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to workflow automation and careful attention to the nuances of version control.
