During February 2025, Basile Gyorgyfalvi focused on stabilizing the distributed tracing subsystem in the major/traefik repository, addressing a critical runtime panic in TracerProvider initialization within the Span struct. Working primarily with Go, he delivered a targeted bug fix that improved the reliability of backend tracing for production workloads. To ensure long-term stability, Basile introduced comprehensive regression and unit tests, including a new TestTracerProvider, which validated correct TracerProvider usage and enhanced overall test coverage.
