Worked on the vshn/appcat repository to enhance deployment stability and contributor processes over a two-month period. Addressed the deprecation of gcr.io by migrating the kube-rbac-proxy image to quay.io, updating the image version to maintain compatibility and security within Kubernetes environments. Later, introduced formal deprecation guidelines and updated pull request templates to standardize communication and improve governance for future contributors. Focused on process management, technical writing, and documentation, utilizing YAML for configuration changes. The work prioritized operational continuity and clear contributor onboarding, reflecting a methodical approach to both infrastructure maintenance and project documentation within a DevOps context.
