During January 2026, Binya contributed to the trpc/trpc repository by enhancing cross-platform compatibility for mobile developers. Binya implemented a change in the @trpc/tanstack-react-query package, making react-dom an optional peer dependency. This adjustment, achieved through careful dependency management and package configuration using JSON, allowed React Native and Expo teams to adopt tRPC with TanStack Query without unnecessary installation steps, while ensuring web users retained correct dependency behavior. Binya validated the build and test processes, updated release documentation, and focused on reducing onboarding friction for mobile teams. The work demonstrated a targeted, well-scoped improvement addressing a specific developer experience challenge.
