Worked on the snakemake/snakemake repository to address a critical bug affecting absolute path resolution for runtime storage prefixes when using Apptainer. Focused on improving workflow reliability, the developer implemented a fix in Python that ensures storage paths are always returned as absolute, preventing issues with container-based reproducibility. To validate the solution, an integration test was added, covering end-to-end retrieval and execution of storage-backed inputs. This approach strengthened overall testing coverage and contributed to higher release quality. The work leveraged DevOps and full stack development skills, emphasizing robust testing practices and enhancing the stability of storage-backed workflows in containerized environments.
