During a two-month period, Betaboon contributed targeted improvements to build tooling and configuration management across two repositories. In aspect-build/rules_py, Betaboon addressed Bazel library compatibility by upgrading dependencies and refining tar_args handling in Starlark, reducing user-facing warnings and improving build stability. For jdx/mise, Betaboon implemented Bazel-Watcher tool integration within the registry configuration, updating registry.toml using TOML syntax to streamline backend management and test automation. The work demonstrated depth in build system configuration and dependency management, focusing on maintainability and smoother onboarding. Betaboon’s contributions provided incremental, well-scoped enhancements that improved automation, reproducibility, and user experience for downstream projects.
