Worked on the inaturalist/iNaturalistReactNative repository to enhance Android image upload reliability and ensure cross-platform consistency. Developed a feature that enables Android devices to use the photo picker URI as the image source, addressing failures caused by temporary path construction and aligning upload behavior with iOS. This approach eliminated path-related issues tied to RNFS.TemporaryDirectoryPath, resulting in a smoother user experience for image sharing. The work was implemented using React Native and JavaScript, with a focus on mobile development best practices. All changes were traceable through commits linked to specific issues, supporting maintainability and clear resolution tracking within the project.
