During May 2025, Bilaak focused on improving license compliance and build reliability in the geotools/geotools repository. He addressed a critical issue in the pom.xml by correcting the LGPL license version and updating broken license URL redirects, ensuring that license metadata was both accurate and aligned with compliance requirements. This work involved detailed XML editing and a strong understanding of build tools and licensing practices. By resolving these issues, Bilaak reduced downstream distribution risks and enhanced the project’s release readiness.
