During October 2024, Birros enhanced the deckerst/media-kit repository by implementing cross-platform build compatibility for macOS and iOS environments. Focusing on build systems and shell scripting, Birros developed logic in Makefile scripts to detect GNU tar and sed utilities, applying compatibility flags to ensure reliable archive extraction and file manipulation across diverse Unix-like systems. This approach addressed environment-specific build failures, improving both local and CI build stability. Although no bugs were fixed during this period, the work laid a foundation for future cross-platform improvements and streamlined the developer experience, demonstrating depth in cross-platform development and build automation practices.
