Worked on enhancing cross-platform build reliability for the deckerst/media-kit repository by implementing detection of GNU tar and sed utilities within the build system. Addressed the challenge of inconsistent archive extraction and file manipulation across Unix-like environments, particularly on macOS and iOS, by introducing compatibility flags and tool-detection logic in Makefile scripts. This approach reduced environment-specific build failures and improved the stability of both local and continuous integration builds. Focused on build systems, cross-platform development, and shell scripting, the work laid a foundation for smoother releases and future improvements without addressing major bugs during the reported period.
