During October 2024, Birros enhanced the deckerst/media-kit repository by delivering cross-platform build compatibility for macOS and iOS environments. He focused on improving the build system using Makefile and shell scripting, implementing logic to detect GNU tar and sed utilities and applying compatibility flags to ensure reliable archive extraction and file manipulation across Unix-like systems. This approach reduced environment-specific build failures and improved the reliability of both local and CI builds. Although no major bugs were addressed, Birros’s work strengthened the foundation for future cross-platform development, streamlining the developer experience and supporting more consistent releases across diverse platforms.
