During February 2026, Ben Maurer enhanced build system transparency by developing new linker map data exposure features for the facebook/buck2 and facebook/buck2-prelude repositories. He introduced a dedicated linker-map sub-target for link group shared libraries, enabling developers and build engineers to analyze the linking process and resulting binaries more effectively. This work involved aligning the exposure of linker map data across both repositories to streamline debugging workflows and ensure cross-repo consistency. Leveraging expertise in C++, build systems, and linking, Ben focused on targeted feature delivery, contributing to improved visibility and maintainability in complex software development and build environments.
