Worked on the bigcommerce/big-design repository to enhance the stability and user experience of the PillTabs component by addressing a form submission bug. Focused on front-end development using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, the work involved explicitly setting the button type to 'button' for PillTabs and its dropdown elements. This technical approach prevented unintended form submissions, thereby improving data integrity and ensuring more predictable user interactions. The solution demonstrated attention to semantic HTML practices and component safety, with a clear, traceable commit history. The work reflected a methodical approach to bug fixing and reinforced robust UI standards within the component library.
