During March 2026, BoD worked on the apollographql/router repository, focusing on backend development and telemetry using Rust. BoD implemented robust validation logic to reject invalid client library name and version headers in API requests, directly addressing issues with inaccurate telemetry data. By ensuring only valid header values are accepted, this change reduced telemetry noise and improved the reliability of analytics, enabling more accurate client configuration tracking. The solution involved careful header parsing and error handling, reflecting a thoughtful approach to data quality. This work enhanced both client awareness and the overall integrity of backend telemetry systems within the project.
