Developed a You.com backend integration for the GPT-OSS browser tool, expanding its web search and content retrieval capabilities. The work focused on implementing dynamic backend selection, allowing browser tool queries to be routed flexibly between You.com and other providers, which broadens search coverage and reduces reliance on a single API. Leveraging Python, the integration utilized asynchronous programming and robust API integration techniques to ensure efficient and resilient backend communication. Comprehensive unit tests were added to validate the new functionality, and documentation was updated to reflect these enhancements. This contribution deepened the tool’s backend development and improved its extensibility and reliability.
