Boonxian Tan developed HEIC and HEIF image format support for the LifeSG/web-frontend-engine repository, focusing on enhancing the image conversion workflow. Using TypeScript and the heic-to library, Boonxian enabled seamless conversion of HEIC files and expanded the utility to output the correct MIME types for these formats. To ensure reliable builds and proper type resolution, Boonxian implemented a TypeScript ambient declaration for heic-to/csp typings. This work streamlined media processing for end users by reducing manual conversion steps and improved build stability. The project demonstrated depth in frontend development and image processing, with careful attention to type safety and workflow integration.
