During February 2025, Mhamed Boukandoura enhanced the geosolutions-it/MapStore2 repository by implementing build-time JVM heap configuration within the Dockerfile. He introduced Docker build arguments to set the initial and maximum heap sizes, allowing for resource allocation to be defined during the image build process rather than at runtime. This approach, using Docker and build configuration skills with Dockerfile syntax, improved deployment reproducibility and enabled more predictable performance tuning for Tomcat server environments.
