Worked on the renovate-bot/apache-_-polaris repository to enhance backend reliability by addressing error handling for unbootstrapped databases in the Polaris Server. Focused on Java-based backend development and database management, the work involved refining exception handling so that generic persistence errors now map to HTTP 500 responses, preventing exposure of sensitive backend metadata. Automated regression tests were added to validate the new error-mapping behavior, ensuring ongoing code quality and resilience. No new user-facing features were released during this period, as efforts centered on strengthening security, improving test coverage, and reducing incident risk to maintain customer trust and operational stability.
