Worked on the element-hq/synapse repository to implement device deletion audit logging, enhancing both security and traceability within the backend system. Focused on Python development, the approach involved instrumenting the DeviceHandler to emit a detailed log entry whenever a device was deleted, capturing both user ID and device ID. This addition supports efficient incident investigation and establishes a foundation for compliant auditing without introducing major performance overhead. Emphasized backend development, debugging, and logging best practices, with maintenance efforts centered on log hygiene. No major bugs were addressed during this period, as the primary focus remained on robust instrumentation and audit readiness.
