During November 2024, Zhang focused on stabilizing diagram rendering in the xkcoding/md repository by addressing a critical bug affecting Mermaid diagrams in Markdown documentation. He upgraded the Mermaid library using JavaScript, applying his skills in dependency management and bug fixing to restore accurate visualization of diagrams. This targeted change reduced user-reported rendering issues and improved the reliability of generated documentation. While the scope of work was limited to a single bug fix rather than new feature development, Zhang’s contribution demonstrated a methodical approach to resolving dependency-related issues and maintaining documentation quality within a JavaScript-based project environment.
