Bruno Volpato focused on stabilizing the native image build process for the substrait-java repository by addressing a persistent issue with the proxies.json reference for dynamic proxy files. Through targeted build automation and CI/CD improvements, Bruno corrected the configuration to ensure proxies.json was properly referenced during native image generation, which reduced build flakiness and improved the reliability of the continuous integration pipeline. Working primarily with Gradle, Bruno’s fix enabled more predictable native-image workflows and faster feedback cycles for Java client changes. This work demonstrated a deep understanding of build tooling and contributed to a more robust and maintainable build process.
