Ben Scholer contributed to the home-assistant/brands repository by developing two key features over a two-month period. He implemented a custom integration that enabled Home Assistant to connect with comma.ai, allowing users to access and automate vehicle telemetry data within the platform. This integration was built using Python and focused on API and integration development, following Home Assistant’s established patterns for extensibility. In a separate sprint, Ben refreshed the Emlid brand icon and logo, aligning the application’s visual assets with updated branding guidelines. His work combined UI and graphic design skills with SVG and Python, enhancing both functionality and user experience.
