During August 2025, Bence Szabo focused on stabilizing ddtrace instrumentation within the edxapp component of the edx/configuration repository. He addressed a critical production issue by pinning ddtrace to known-good versions using YAML-based configuration management, which mitigated CPU run-ups and reduced the risk of performance regressions from future ddtrace upgrades. This approach improved the safety of staging and testing environments, enabling safer experimentation and faster rollbacks when necessary.
