Worked on the bestpractical/rt repository to expand automation capabilities by extending scripting support beyond Tickets to include Articles and Assets. This involved updating the database schema, implementing backend changes for new lookup types, and adjusting the user interface to manage scrip associations across multiple object types. Addressed a key bug by enforcing that Rule objects are processed only when associated with a Ticket, thereby improving data integrity and preventing invalid contexts. The work demonstrated strong backend development and database schema design skills using Perl, with a focus on maintainability and clear module boundaries to support future enhancements and cross-module collaboration.
