Over a two-month period, contributed backend features to the profcomff/rating-api and profcomff/rental-api repositories, focusing on API development and database management using Python, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy. Enhanced data integrity by requiring full names for non-anonymous comment submissions and improved the rental-api’s GET /item endpoint with sorting, filtering, and clearer control flow. Updated endpoint documentation and refactored code for maintainability, supporting easier onboarding and long-term support. Delivered a database migration upgrade command to automate schema updates after migration tests, ensuring QA and test environments remained in sync. Emphasized automated testing, environment parity, and maintainable backend architecture throughout the work.
