In February 2025, Butler Butlercq integrated Neovim tree-sitter grammars into the msys2/MINGW-packages repository, focusing on C, Lua, Markdown, Query, Vim, and Vimdoc support. He implemented new package build definitions, updated dependencies, and ensured the grammars were included in the Neovim package with a properly configured runtime path. Working primarily with Shell scripting and leveraging skills in build systems and package management, Butler verified the integration within the packaging workflow to ensure compatibility and immediate usability. The work addressed the need for enhanced syntax support in Neovim on Windows, providing a maintainable solution for future package updates.
