During January 2025, Bjoern Zeeb focused on enhancing the wireless stack in the CTSRD-CHERI/cheribsd repository, addressing a complex bug in the Net80211 CCMP RX decrypt hardware offload path. He improved the robustness of RX packet processing by introducing explicit checks for IEEE80211_RX_F_DECRYPTED and IEEE80211_RX_F_MMIC_STRIP flags, ensuring correct handling when hardware crypto acceleration is enabled. This work stabilized compatibility with rtw8x drivers and reduced RX packet failures. Leveraging his expertise in C, cryptography, and embedded systems, Bjoern delivered a targeted fix that deepened the reliability of network protocol handling in a critical driver development context.
