During March 2025, C. Magyar developed a new tkl_f13_ansi_tsangan community keyboard layout for the novelkeys/nk87 product line within the srwi/qmk_firmware repository. The work involved updating keyboard.json and refining the build process by reverting a previous rules.mk change, which reduced integration friction and future maintenance overhead. Leveraging skills in embedded systems and keyboard firmware development, C. Magyar focused on JSON-based configuration and disciplined version control. The contribution expanded the NK87’s layout options, improved maintainability, and facilitated faster onboarding for community contributors, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to open-source collaboration and technical depth in firmware integration and configuration management.
