Developed support for the D-Link DGS-1210-26 network switch within the namiltd/openwrt repository, focusing on embedded systems and network hardware configuration. The work involved integrating a device tree for the switch, updating the build system, and defining I2C interfaces to enable SFP module and Ethernet PHY management by OpenWrt. By leveraging device tree syntax and embedded Linux principles, the implementation allowed OpenWrt to automatically recognize and manage the DGS-1210-26, reducing manual configuration requirements. This feature enhanced hardware compatibility and deployment readiness for enterprise environments, strengthening OpenWrt’s capabilities in managing Realtek-based network switches without addressing major bugs during the period.
