Over two months, Cappyzawa enhanced reliability and user experience across the starship/starship and helix-editor/helix repositories. They developed an automated CI workflow using GitHub Actions and Shell scripting to validate the starship installer, integrating shellcheck linting, shfmt formatting, and curl-based integration tests to prevent regressions. In Rust, they improved installation script UX by guiding version selection and isolated AWS-related tests to reduce CI flakiness. Cappyzawa also expanded UI customization in Helix by introducing Akari Dawn and Night themes, applying user experience design principles. Their work demonstrated depth in backend development, testing, and theme development, addressing both reliability and usability.
