During June 2025, contributed to the openucx/ucx repository by implementing Universal Build System support, focusing on packaging modernization and build process alignment. The work involved integrating the ucx.spec file into the project tarball and updating packaging metadata, including AUTHORS and Makefile.am, to reference the new spec. This approach standardized build procedures across platforms, improved continuous integration reliability, and reduced friction for onboarding new build targets. Utilizing Makefile and build system expertise, the changes enabled smoother cross-platform releases, clearer attribution in build artifacts, and enhanced automation. No major bugs were addressed, as the primary focus remained on build infrastructure improvements.
