Worked on the kubernetes/autoscaler repository to extend AWS cloud provider support for new EC2 g7e instance types, including g7e.12xlarge, g7e.24xlarge, g7e.2xlarge, g7e.48xlarge, g7e.4xlarge, and g7e.8xlarge. Implemented these changes using Go, focusing on cloud infrastructure integration and AWS configuration. The update broadened the range of eligible instance types for the cluster autoscaler, improving resource allocation and scaling efficiency for Kubernetes clusters running on AWS. This work involved modifying provider logic to recognize and utilize the new instance types, ensuring seamless scaling operations and better alignment with evolving AWS hardware offerings.
