Worked on enhancing task lifecycle control in the Nextflow repository, focusing on the reliability of the LSF executor. Developed a feature that enabled the -d flag in the bkill command, improving the robustness of task termination for LSF-backed workflows and reducing the occurrence of orphaned processes in batch environments. The approach involved backend development and testing using Groovy, ensuring that task termination was more reliable and that downstream workflow stability was improved. Collaborated with other contributors through co-authored commits, demonstrating an ability to work effectively within a team. The work addressed a targeted reliability issue in workflow execution.
