During August 2025, Chad Whitely enhanced the Jackett/Jackett repository by developing a feature that improved search accuracy for AnimeTorrents. He expanded the indexer’s functionality to search not only filenames but also Japanese content descriptions, addressing the challenge of discovering torrents with non-Latin titles. This backend development work, implemented in C# and leveraging API integration skills, enabled users to find Japanese titles more efficiently by matching queries against a broader set of metadata. While no major bugs were addressed during this period, Chad’s focused contribution deepened the search logic, resulting in more relevant results and a smoother user experience.
