During March 2026, Sergio Ocon modernized the Email Alert System in the trento-project/web repository, focusing on removing dependencies on deprecated Phoenix views and migrating email rendering to HEEx templates. By aligning the codebase with Phoenix 1.7 and cleaning up unused dependencies, Sergio improved both rendering performance and long-term maintainability. The work, implemented using Elixir and HTML within the Phoenix framework, addressed technical debt by eliminating legacy view patterns and stabilizing the dependency graph. Although no bugs were fixed during this period, the foundational changes set the stage for future enhancements and ensured the system’s readiness for upcoming Phoenix releases.
