Worked on the grafana/metrics-drilldown repository to deliver UTF-8 metric name support for PromQL queries, focusing on improving the accuracy and reliability of metric drilldown features. Used TypeScript and front end development skills to align query construction with PromQL syntax, ensuring correct rendering of UTF-8 metric names and handling edge cases such as duplicate names. Enhanced the codebase to prepare for backend UTF-8 support, reducing query-related errors and improving dashboard reliability. Incorporated comprehensive testing to validate new functionality, resulting in a more robust user experience for metric exploration and analysis within Grafana’s metrics drilldown interface.
