Worked on the android/androidify repository to deliver an orientation-aware Camera UI, enhancing the user experience by dynamically adjusting camera controls based on device rotation. This approach addressed a common usability issue where controls could obstruct the camera preview in landscape mode, particularly preventing finger obstruction. The solution involved targeted updates to the cameraLayout, resulting in a focused and low-risk UI/UX patch. Leveraging Android Development skills with Jetpack Compose and Kotlin, the work emphasized maintainable code changes and clear commit documentation. The contribution demonstrated a practical understanding of mobile UI engineering, particularly in handling orientation changes and improving camera preview usability.
