Worked on the apache/datafusion-comet repository to enhance the stability of Iceberg class loading within the CometScanRule component. Addressed reliability and performance issues in complex classpath environments by switching to the use of a thread context classloader, which reduced runtime class-loading errors during Iceberg integration and data fusion workloads. This targeted backend development effort in Scala and Apache Spark improved deployment stability and minimized operational risk, resulting in smoother operator experiences and less troubleshooting. The work focused on a single feature, demonstrating depth in addressing nuanced class loading challenges and contributing to more robust data processing pipelines within the project.
