Worked on the Cosmian/kms repository to overhaul the KMS observability and monitoring stack, focusing on improving system visibility and operational guidance. Refactored the docker-compose setup to streamline deployment and integrated OpenTelemetry with a VictoriaMetrics-based monitoring stack for enhanced telemetry and logging. Updated Grafana dashboards to provide clearer performance metrics and visualization, and produced comprehensive documentation in Markdown detailing architecture, deployment, and runbook considerations. Leveraged DevOps practices and Bash scripting to automate and document the monitoring workflow. These changes reduced incident detection time and mean time to recovery by providing operators with richer telemetry and clearer operational documentation.
