Worked on the msupply-foundation/open-msupply repository to enhance backend reliability and data integrity, focusing on inventory management features. Leveraged Rust, GraphQL, and SQL to implement contextual logging for improved ledger monitoring, refine inventory adjustment processes, and optimize query capabilities. Addressed orphan inventory adjustments by ensuring zero-stock items were excluded from ledgers and improved auditability by timestamping adjustments with finalized stocktake data. Introduced new query methods for item repositories and expanded filtering options for stocktake lines, enabling more precise data retrieval. Prioritized observability and performance tuning through targeted testing and iterative refinements, delivering four features and resolving one bug within the month.
