During January 2025, contributed to the helix-editor/helix repository by enhancing the git-commit language configuration to support syntax highlighting for merge commit messages. This work involved updating TOML configuration files to recognize MERGE_MSG file globs, ensuring that language features and highlighting are consistently applied during Git merge operations. By focusing on configuration management and leveraging TOML, the changes improved readability and developer productivity when reviewing Git history within the editor. No major bugs were addressed during this period, but the feature reinforced robust language support for Git workflows and contributed to a smoother developer experience during code merges.
