Chris Triplenickel developed and integrated advanced automotive software features in the sunnypilot/opendbc and mvl-boston/opendbc repositories, focusing on secure and reliable vehicle control. Over four months, Chris delivered cruise control messaging enhancements, implemented Secure Onboard Communication (SecOC) for longitudinal control in Toyota vehicles, and expanded support to new plug-in hybrid models. Using C++, Python, and CAN Bus communication, Chris defined new message structures, updated safety configurations, and automated vehicle identification through data configuration. The work demonstrated depth in embedded systems and security protocols, addressing both data quality and platform readiness for broader adoption of secure automotive control workflows.
