Worked on enhancing the QuestionRouter component within the alphagov/govuk-chat repository, focusing on expanding model support and simplifying the backend configuration. The main feature involved integrating Claude Sonnet 4.5 as a new model option, which broadened the range of question types the system could handle and improved routing accuracy. Additionally, deprecated support for Haiku 4.5 was removed to streamline the model stack and reduce ongoing maintenance. The work was implemented using Ruby on Rails and centered on backend development, reflecting a targeted approach to evolving the system’s capabilities while maintaining clarity and efficiency in the codebase.
