Worked on the apache/beam repository to deliver Avro 1.12.0 compatibility updates for the Java Avro extension, focusing on maintaining correct data handling and build-time compatibility. Addressed the challenge of evolving dependencies by implementing cross-build support and updating the build configuration to include Avro 1.12.0, ensuring seamless interoperability across Beam modules. Adjusted unit tests, particularly in AvroUtilsTest.java, to reflect changes introduced in the new Avro version and maintained CI stability through retriggers and comprehensive test runs. Utilized Java, build configuration management, and unit testing to stabilize downstream data pipelines and support ongoing integration with newer Avro releases.
