During October 2024, Clickot3 enhanced the imputnet/helium repository by developing a File Pruning Observability Enhancement focused on improving diagnostics for the file pruning process. Leveraging Python scripting and backend development skills, Clickot3 implemented detailed logging to capture missing file paths alongside error messages when files could not be removed. This approach provided richer context for error handling, enabling faster root-cause analysis and reducing troubleshooting time for pruning failures. The work integrated seamlessly with existing pruning workflows and instrumentation, improving operational reliability and offering more actionable data for future optimization of the pruning pipeline. No bugs were reported or fixed.
