During November 2025, Cliff enhanced the rclone/rclone repository by developing advanced metadata and tag support for the Azure Blob backend. He implemented features in Go that map standard headers to Azure’s x-ms-blob-* headers, normalize user metadata keys, and parse x-ms-tags for uploads and copies. This work enabled richer metadata handling, improved data governance, and allowed precise modification-time control using RFC3339 timestamps. By integrating these capabilities, Cliff addressed the need for better searchability and organization in cloud storage operations. His contributions demonstrated depth in API development, cloud storage integration, and metadata management, delivering robust end-to-end metadata support for Azure Blob.
