Worked on backend development for the element-hq/synapse repository, delivering a feature that improved the Hierarchy API by aligning its field naming with the Matrix v1.15 specification. Using Python and API development skills, normalized the room_version and encryption fields by removing prefixes and flag requirements, ensuring the API conformed to updated standards without altering existing behavior. This approach enhanced developer experience and client interoperability by making the API more predictable and easier to integrate. Maintained stability throughout the process, with all changes carefully tracked and documented for future reference, supporting ongoing auditability and review within the project’s development workflow.
