
In September 2025, Carlos Montes contributed to the heroku/cli repository by delivering a targeted bug fix and developing a new feature to enhance the Heroku CLI’s reliability and user experience. He implemented the --no-launcher flag for heroku run commands, allowing users greater control over command execution in CNB-based applications. This work involved refactoring helper functions and expanding test coverage to ensure robust behavior across multiple app stacks. Using TypeScript, JavaScript, and comprehensive testing practices, Carlos also addressed issues with redis:cli and a destructive copy operation, resulting in a more stable and maintainable CLI aligned with user and developer needs.
