Worked on the music-assistant/server repository to enhance the reliability of the YTMusic provider by addressing issues with PO Token server startup. Implemented robust retry logic using asynchronous programming in Python, ensuring the provider could handle delays when the token server was slow to respond. Expanded error handling to cover both ClientError and TimeoutError, increasing the system’s resilience to transient backend issues. Developed and integrated automated tests to validate the new retry mechanisms and error handling, focusing on scenarios involving temporary failures. This work improved uptime and stability for the music assistant service, emphasizing backend development and thorough testing practices.
